It has come to my attention that I haven’t been posting about my hair much in the last months. I just wanted to make it perfectly clear that, yes, I still have hair, and I have come up with a couple of more or less creative ways to wear it, I just haven’t shown any of them for various reasons. Mostly: lazy. 😉 Not really, though.

Anyway, here’s some proof of hair.

The pictures are all sooc, by the way, please excuse the poor photography in some (ok, all) of them.

Double Dutch Braid

I call this the Double Dutch

This was so much fun to do and wear. I don’t think anybody commented on it but they were probably just all stunned into silence. 😛

This is a simple Dutch Braid with the ends braided normally (English) and then folded in a way that the English braid rests above the Dutch part of the braid. This was held by maybe three or four bobby pins. There was something weird going on with the hair behind my left ear, so I had a bow clip cover that up.

Sock Bun with Braided Base

My First Sock Bun

with braided wrapped ends.

You can see the sock-type donut shining through because my hair was dyed when I wore this style and the sock was not.

Also, I was very disappointed with this particular donut’s quality – or rather lack thereof. I tossed it after the first time wearing it. It was one of those thingies with fake hair wrapped around the donut part. The hair came apart right away and what was left unravelled almost as quickly.

Dutch Braid Wrap

Dutch Braid Wrap

I don’t know if you’ve had the same experience with Dutch braids, but mine tend to do something weird at the point where the braid leaves the head, if you know what I mean. The point where you have no hair left to add and keep braiding normally. This leads me to bun or wrap or fold the English braided end 9 out of 10 times.

That time I wrapped the end, threading it underneath the Dutch braid twice, or maybe thrice, I can’t remember.

French Braid Bun

French braids don’t work out for me either and have to be bunned. I don’t mind that at all, though. More protection for my ends and the hair is out of the way.

Plus, buns are pretty… no innuendo intended!

Shiny Bun

Shiny Bun Kind of Thing

Don’t ask me what I did here, ’cause the air in my head doesn’t remember. But I thought to myself “Ooooh, shiny!” when I saw this picture in my hair folder, so I thought I’d share. It’s a bun, I can tell you as much. 🙂
